Summer at Sandon, 2001-02

Sandon

Seventy-one photographs from our second biennial camping trip to Sandon River, in the Yuraygir National Park, with the family and some friends. The photo above shows the location of the camping ground (on the northern side of the river, across from the village), the river estuary (reputedly the cleanest river in NSW), the long sweep of Five Mile Beach, and Plover Island on the extreme right of the picture.

Our journey starts in Brisbane, where my brother Andrew, his wife Amalia and their two boys live, then down to the Bodhi Farm for a few days, then off to Sandon for the big camp. There was a huge bushfire burning around us most of the time we were there, so there’s some pretty unusual holiday snaps here. (more…)
